SHAFT NOISE; I contacted my dealer because two weeks ago they told that the shaft would be replaced (noise between 50 / 65 km.) Now they told me that Mazda Netherlands want them to refit the shaft and rotate it by 120 degrees, If that doesn’t work they will take further action. The date for the repair is the 11 th. of april. I will report the result. Different countries, different dealers, different actions/solutions……..

It seems that there are not many new problems to talk about, I have a PHEV for 3 weeks and at the moment 0 problems. I hope and wish that from Mazda Japan they have managed to solve all the problems in the cars that are manufactured new.
Good for you :) but a bit strange that you do not have the vibration problems, as Mazda to my konoleg do hat have a solution yet. :) my car was producet in december, and i have jus handed in at list with 18 issues ( big and Small) that needs to be corrected. but lucky you :)

hope it works, my car will go in on the 24 of april. But they will not try to fix the shaft, as they do not have a solution. According to a few people in the forum the 120 degree turn dos not work, but looking forward to your feedback :) i hav had the car for 30 day an have driven 4500 km.
  • Vibrations 50-70 km/h
  • Vibrations at 130-130 km/h higher frequency visible inside mirror and sun shade.
  • Backing up a small his(driveway) in EV mode, the car shakes and jumps along
  • Unsettled rear end,
  • Directional stability on the highway “dead spot” in the steering
  • Constant warnings form the safety systems when driving on small roads
  • The car uses the battery to defrost in the morning even though it is plugged in….
  • Can not go below 15-16% on the battery ( 7-8C) and starts to charge the battery during driving
  • Power steering alarm
  • Door’s sound like a tin can when closed handle on back door super noisy.
  • Gearbox hacking along especially when breaking and shifting between EV and Combustion.
  • Automatic adjustment of seats dos does not work all the time
  • Luggage compartment door sounds like a metal bucket with loos rocks in it, when closed.
  • Numberplate not secured well
  • DAB radio not working all the time
  • 12v battery Low alarm if the car is not used for a few days
  • Strange sound when shifting between 5 and 6 gear ( wooop)
  • Noise from front suspension when turning sharply op a small hill by sidewalk or similar

Your firmwares are not updated. Mazda has a policy, they don't call you (knowing about the problems), you have to complain about the situations. The problem with the vibration, I don't think they will solve it without changing the gimbal. The suspension sound, the face, received the solution - Vaseline must be injected into the front arm sockets. They have a service bulletin. They fixed all the problems of the box (from the software). It is spectacular now. Success!

I know there have been a few attempts to fix the problem by turning the shaft but you must give them the opportunity to try it, you cannot refuse it 🤨
Your list is long with much different items, I hope they can reduce it to zero! Keep us up to date!

Do anyone still have problems with the gearbox after updates? I think it’s v’better than before but the car still sometimes accelerate for a second when gearing down, and sometimes makes a small jerk when gearing down.
Do anyone else have this issue?

i know someone mentioned that the dealer talked about a fix with the gearbox oil pump, is this a fix that should be made?

I've receivced my takumi on february 14th and i'm not convinced about the car. All those "little" problems are taking away comfort and fun to drive. We can discuss about the economy of the car, but it's not good. Driving above 70 km/h in ev mode is just to much consuming and because there is a lack of an inteligent EV mode you have to use manual tricks to opmitze he economy.

Anayway, i've got the same problems as marked in green. And i've got a ratteling seatbelt buckle receiver on de passenger side which is very anoying, it rattles on every bumpy road. A car of almost 60K € is should do better than this.

My dealer told me i've got already the suspension upgrade (VIN ending in 16317) which i didn't hope for because i think the suspension in the back is to bad and the one in front is making cracking and peeping sounds when driving of a sidewalk or while turning sharply. If you put something in the trunk it is flying around when taken a small bump and you get ejected out of your front seat. Next week my dealer will take a look at rattling seatbelt buckle receiver and some other minor problems...

My girlfriend has a CX-30 which is just a better car in many ways.

Have the same problem with unwanted acceleration but not only when gearing down. Also happens while drivning in a steady pace. Both in EV and petrol mode. Mazda have no fix yet.

I think we have the same problem because that can happen sometimes for me also.
I wonder if every CX-60 have this problem, since most people on this forum seems very pleased with the gearbox at the moment..

The gearbox and power source transition was the second worse feature for me with the PHEV..Glad to have seen it gone.

Thankfully no such similar issues with the Inline 6, it's almost heavenly in comparison.

There is not, and have never been any gearbox updates for CX-60.
Not mechanical but I had a bunch of software updates and somewhere in that lot the gearbox behaviour was transformed for me. Smoother and silent. Only one bug remains: Decel on engine only at low speed then adding power. Reallly confuses the box and do a get a substantial jerk. Typical: Approaching a roundabout slowing than see I can go so accelerate. Then it happens. Not a problem if I have actually stopped. No difference if I use EV priority or not.
Fulll overnight charge and apparently I have 48 miles range. 44 yesterday which turned into about 36 real.

Another update has appeared and it fixes that bug with aggressive deceleration and acceleration. At least it doesn't work for me anymore. More Up dates around mid-March

I can add further encouragement. I have now had my CX60 Homura for over a month and it has none of the glitches reported in early cars, not even a rattle. Also, whilst my car will typically suggest merely 28 - 31 miles EV range on start up, I am actually achieving considerably more, twice topping 40 miles. It seems to me that this EV range predictive function has an almost AI like characteristic that remembers one's historic driving habits and past weather conditions history. My very first drive (from the dealer) was in snow with full A/C blowing, heated seats, heated steering wheel and demisting in operation, and that has probably set its initial guesstimation EV range benchmark. Here (in the UK), we are still seeing zero C temperatures overnight (hence during charging), so I reckon the car still remembers its freezing baptism, but when I actually drive now, the afternoon temperature having warmed to perhaps 12+ C, my actual EV range when measured on the Odometer is much closer to the WLTP estimate of 39 miles. I suspect that much depends on your driving style, speeds, distances driven and conditions.

The car also reported average fuel efficiency of 2.5 mi/kWh and 99.9 MPG after my last journey of circa 80 miles (If sceptical, please see image!). Earlier, short journeys (typically under ten miles) undertaken largely in EV mode and typically in freezing weather, have not been quite so EV efficient (many under 2.0 mi/kWh), but my Tesla owning neighbour tells me his range and Mi/kWh is significantly worse than expectation in cold weather and in city/urban motoring. The CX60, given its weight, is probably not the greatest PHEV in the context of fuel economy (but compare its lower purchase cost with that of other premium PHEV SUVs), but I am not disappointed compared to my former Mercedes E350d (and my Jaguar XJL before that).

The decisive factor for me is that since much of my driving can now be (almost) pure EV, my emissions have dropped from between 178 (or 198) g/km to almost nil. However, if one is heavy on acceleration, and you don't always start with a full EV battery, and are regularly doing daily journeys over 100 miles, then any PHEV probably isn't the right choice. The CX60 diesel (129 g/km) will be far more lifetime economical than the PHEV (most certainly considering purchase price), but my choice was about reducing emissions, rather than reducing costs. Surely, nobody buys any electric car thinking they will save money over its lifetime given that the capital costs are so high? Overall, I am loving the value for money, yet premium Mazda experience, after two decades of paying big bucks for more expensive premium brands. It is just a shame that its first year since launch has been tarnished by so many reported problems (but that is not untypical for new launches).
