Got in the car yesterday and all the lights and screens started flickering on and off then it died completely. Stuck a smart charger on the 12v battery which couldn't charge the battery and indicated the battery had failed.

Called Mazda assist who put a battery booster on it and got it started then left because the car was running. When it started it came up with "Hybrid system malfunction".

I've managed to get the smart charger to work today but when I tried to start the car I got "Hybrid system malfunction" and "engine malfunction" errors, although it started it sounded very lumpy.

It may just be a failed battery but having had the wiring loom replaced earlier this year I don't hold out much hope of it being that simple.
I’ve had exactly same problem, but have managed to charge the battery, but needed to disconnect the earth strap to allow it to charge.
2 days prior to this problem I noticed another problem with the speed limit indicator on the dash and HUD. It didn’t seem to be able to pick up the speed limit from GPS/map. Often showing - - - It could read the signs though. The satnav display, however, showed the car accurately place.
It’s in the dealer Thursday to check the battery and clear the Hybrid System Malfunction and investigate the speed limit display.

My car is LHD and this morning I noticed that the passenger side mirror didn’t go dark when the car behind me was close and had his lights on. At the same moment the rear view mirror and the left mirror were dark. It was odd, but maybe it’s by design. Anyone else noticed this?

Thought I'd share also my main experiences with phev problems after 19 months and 26k km:
  • initially the typical iactivsense malfunctioning (cameras dark)-->fixed early on
  • slightly vibrating driver-side mirror from the beginning-->new mirror changed early on, no effect. This Jan I mentioned them the related TSB, the response was that Mazda Spain has not authorised it's application??!! So the vibration continues.
  • knocking sound from the tailgate started last autumn-->greased, ok for 2 months but knocking came back-->a lot more grease and so far 3 months ok.
  • ugly sound from front suspension at full turn showed up last autumn-->changed some parts per the TSB I guess, so far so good.
  • claimed the door insulation R85/22 more than a year ago, initially got "maybe in Germany, here we don't do it"-->a few months ago they finally bent and did it.
  • transmission jerks occasionally at low speed downshifts, but this seemed to get less and less with time. Then after the Jan-24 "big recall" it got much worse, but again over time it seems to get smoother. So apparently there is some learning there after all, but it takes months...
  • lately a rattle has developed in the pano reinforcement bar, and I tell you it's f***** annoying. Saw a TSB, currently mustering energy to make an appointment at the dealer...
  • in general I find the pano roof way too loud with a lot of aero noise from about 100 kph. The dealer thinks it normal though... Anyone else with similar experience?

Summarizing, I haven't had the more severe issues like the drive train vibration and sticky steering (and the suspension is ok enough for me; although I agree the rear could be more damped), mainly rattles and sounds. Annoying issues nonetheless, and the dealer attitude doesn't make it much better.
Yup, everything you mention has a TSB, apart from the wind noise. It is actually not only the roof. The whole car is missing a lot of insulation material. Especially on the floor, that’s why the suspension problems can be heard so clearly.

Yesterday I was inside my neighbors 10yo ford focus with 200k kms on the clock for a short drive. Smoother and more comfy ride, less noise and, above all, a lot less creaks and squeaks from the plastics inside the cabin. I think the reason is the stiff suspension which just passes on the bumps into the interior and all the stuff inside becomes shaky and loose.

This might be a bold statement since I only tried Koni for one day (friends car) but I like my newly fitted Fs more. I did first longer highway/country trip last weekend and few hundred kms in city. Rear is finaly sticking to the bumpy road and car is notecably more comfortable over uneven surfaces.
What shocks did you install? Also the springs?

I had a weird problem a week or so ago. We had our first snow with temperatures just below freezing so the humidity was quite high, so high in fact that the entire car fogged up on the inside and there was no force on this planet that would demist the side windows and a very large portion of the windscreen. I've tried basically everything, every combination of buttons, temperautre and AC setting, still had to drive like I'm in a moving sauna, wiping the windows and windscreen with a towel. I restarted the car, left it for a few hours otside when I reached my destination, came back, drove it home, parked in my garage with the driver window just barely open.
I rang my dealer and took the car in the next day, they flashed the latest software for the climate controls and I haven't had this issue since.

I've also just received the email about AR058A and AR060A, I'd have to ask them if they did those two when they had it last week.

Several times I have parked the car for a short while and come back to it only to find all the windows steamed up. And even whilst driving with the SC doing it's job my windows just decide to steam up for no reason, including the side mirrors. I've had to use the front demister many times recently. I was at Mazda I my last week regarding the rear seat noises and as I left my windows were all steamed up again.

You may try a moisture eater.
There are basically two types: dry and wet.

The dry ones need reconditioning in the oven between uses, the wet ones need a refill bag once a month or two.

I use the latter one (wet) but it needs to be hung behind the back seat in such a way that it can never be able to fall on it's side. It has also to be emptied of accumulated water before each ride (100 - 200 ml per each few days).

The former one (dry) can be placed anywhere in the car and the worst thing what can happen is it stop working unless it is reconditioned (dried).

The moisture which is not evacuated from the car's interior lands inside inaccessible places where it is not able to dry sufficiently in wintertime (because it freezes) and creates exactly the problems you are experiencing when some heat is applied.

Never in my life and the 30 or so cars Ive owned or driven have I had to compensate for poor design and faults with a dehumidifier. Absolute nonsense that I pay 60k for a car and have to dehumidify it myself.

Your choice.

However, I had this very problem in my CX-5 and simply carried over the solution to CX-60.
It works the same in both.
An acquaintance did the same to a Mazda 3.
So I may say, it's probably a family problem :D , a Mazda family that is.

Please stop making suggestions for a poor car design. Never had this issue in any other car except for an RS6 and it took 3 Audi centers to work out the issue with 4.2l twin turbo and the cabin sensor position.
Guess the purpose here is sharing ideas and today i learned somenthing from Chris. The blaming should and can be in a different direction...
Cheers!
