We may say as well that Mercedes, BMW and other German cars are years behind Tesla with Navigate on autopilot. Please compare in live or on youtube. Nothing is better then Tesla in terms of autopilot/autodrive/assistance of driver. I would like to buy Tesla with diesel inline 6 from Mazda . I make 42k km per year so electric car is not for me but no one has autopilot like Tesla. Sorry.
I agree 100%, but in terms of autopilot and drive assistance is on top. So, I don't see a difference Mazda to German (drive assistance systems) cars but to Tesla I see on both.
It's amazing that for time being only Tesla has so sophisticated autopilot systems.
You've got to be joking, right? Tesla's Autopilot is utter crap that shits the bed with the first sign of dirt on any of the cameras, they opted out of using radars completely and they absolutely don't care about their customers.

Traffic Sign reading is laughably bad, the traffic sign detection is not working half the time and the auto pilot is still beta, because you can't depend on it at all.

Mazda's Systems are far from perfect, but for what they do, they are better than anything Tesla has. Mercedes and Audi have the "best", but Mazda isn't that far off, especially with the last updates it's gotten leaps better.

Guys, I was cruising in my boss Cadillac Escalade 6.2 V8 today. I can say only "You get what you pay for!"
You want to ride in the most luxurious interior - get ready to pay over 100k Euro minimum.
You want to ride "like in a boat" - get ready to pay over 100k Euro minimum.
You want them all - get ready to pay over 150k Euro minimum!
Oh... one more.... you have a heavy foot - get ready to reach 22-25 l/100km.

CX-60 is probably the best you can get on the market for that money!
Have fun and enjoy life!

🤣🤣🤣 have you driven one

How is your 12V warning?
Gone. It's history. :) Please, see CX-60 Problems topic, I have published solution.

I have decided to buy CX-60 3.3 Diesel because:
  • new platform, new engine but everything is done with old school. Large engine 3.3L , 6 pistons, rear drive, old way cockpit. Some other premium brands have similar engines on top levels. Of course I'm taking a risk of some repairs due to new car, new engine. CX-60 has one year as a model.
  • every car had problems at the beginning. I have access to portals, for mechanics. Trust me, even airliners has bulletins.. Boeing 737-MAX was stoped for 2 years!!!
  • Mazda service is chipper than other brands. I don't like waste money for services. Please, check prices for something after 2 years warranty. Mercedes has extension of warranty but only for gearbox and engine, nothing more. I know how much does it really cost.
  • 6 years full warranty. Full.
  • XC-60 is good car, but old as a model, a lot of them. Probably they will put something new soon. New version has terrible media system. Volvo is not the some brand as before was only Swedish.
  • X3 is nice car as full electric. They are focused on electric cars now.
  • Fuel efficiency it's confirmed 5-7 liter with 3.3L 256KM 550NM. Again, I don't like wasting a money. Please compare real consumption to other. Crazy.
  • Please, remember. You may repair something, but If something is wrong designed but working, nobody change it. You bought it.
  • Do we really have 100% reliable and no problems cars, systems for more money of premium brands? If you show me that car or pay for every time of service for 6 year I change my mind. To me Mazda is good business.
  • CX-60 is top level of Mazda. Other premium brands has better class like X5, GLE, XC-90 (for suvs) and they are focused to be on top with them, not with lower class.

I've finally ordered one as well. Dealer says it's going to be ready in September, i'm the third person to order one (D254 and only that local dealer...) and the 2nd to order a Takumi in Blue...funny. I've opted for the DEFA Heating system, Webasto want's over 2k for the Hardware alone, with labor it's probably going to be above 3k Euros...that's utterly insane. The DEFA System will heat the Oil Pan directly - only 300 Watt of Power and needs about 1-2 hours to heat it to 10°C if it's 0°C outside, but that makes a very big difference. Also already tested an OBD Adapter, Torque does show Oil Temps.

The Mercedes will be gone in October - so i hope that' true or i have to get a loaner

Congratulations!
Once the order is made, your dealer can check the process online - production date, readiness date, estimated shipping date and estimated date of arrival in Europe.
From experience - it took about 10 days for my car to arrive from Rotterdam to Sofia, so you should have it in Germany for like 5-7 days max.

I was able to get this information from my dealer, so I knew exactly what to expect. I knew that the car will be produced on 8th of Dec and will be delivered on 28th Feb in Europe. 😁😁
Good luck!

My dealer promised me to inform me, as soon as he has that information. Unfortunately, it seems more people are ordering now and there is no data available, even after 14 days :D

For anyone interested, German "Auto Zeitung" did a Comparison between the X3 2.0d, Seat Taracco 2.0 TDI, Volvo XC-60 D4 and the CX-60. Translated with deepl, text is quite readable in english as it seems. X3/CX-60/Tarraco/XC60: Vergleichstest | autozeitung.de

The gist of it: Mazda isn't the best in any category, but it's very good regardless. The Gearbox should be a bit tightened up, the "normal" chassis critique and some odd mentioning about the body not being torsionally stiff enough (which i personally can't relate to at all), but the Engine is pretty much one of the best on the market and trumps all of the puny 4-Cylinders and it has the least amount of consumption

I was able to take some measurements with a D254 that had a Panoramic Sunroof (don't know if it alredy had the improved sound dampening in the doors). Keep in mind, that's not a calibrated measuring device, so i can only compare it to my E300de (also with Sunroof):

Steady 100 km/h, ~ 40 Seconds of Measuring, same stretch of asphalt, both ACs turned off:
Mazda 65 dB Average, Max. 74 dB, Min. 63 dB
Mercedes 65 dB Average, Max. 72 dB, Min. 63 dB

Steady 160 km/h, ~ 25 Seconds of Measuring, same stretch of asphalt, both ACs turned off:
Mazda 73 dB Average, Max. 76 dB, Min. 71 dB
Mercedes 72 dB Average, Max. 78 dB, Min. 69 dB

However, the Mercedes has some Wind Noise above 140 km/h, the Mazda doesn't. While the loudness apparently isn't higher, they noise itself is more unpleasant, the Mazda feels more "uniform".

Overall, i think the difference is very subtle. Keep in Mind, my Mercedes has the optional double glazed windows and more sound damping than the "normal" E-Class, AKA the "Advanced Acoustics Package". Something Mazda could also offer relatively easy.

Difference between the D200 and D254 is very noticeable actually. Same goes for the AWD, while i normally am no fan of AWD, in this case and due to the very open diff of the D200, the D254 is superior in nearly every way...

Ive just done a plethora of sound proofing to my 254 with 2.5mm Killmat - doors have 90% coverage, boot floor, rear arches and bonnet. Ambient noise has dropped significantly.

There is zero soundproofing in the rear wheel wells, those and the boot sounded like tin cans. Not anymore.

Only real noise now other than engine is front tyres so will do some enhancements on the front liners next, but so much happier now its not far away from being silent inside.

@Southeastern I have already 7000km on my 3.3 (254hp) diesel and I'm at 6.6 l/km. Wondering how is yours?
I dont have anywhere near that mileage to compare, only around 1500, and we work out fuel consumption a little different.

At the moment I see around 35-38mpg city driving and 45-50mpg on motorway on standard diesel.

On premium diesel, city driving is around the same but on a run it really goes up to 55-60mpg. I've seen a constant 64mpg on one trip at 60-65mph.

My current Tiguen 2.0d RLine hardly floats on clouds, so I'm probably prepared for the CX-60.
The only thing that is "bad" on the CX-60 is the rebound on long bumps. My E300de is also very noisy, clunks and thudds over pottholes, footway borders and railway sleepers. And i do have the Airmatic and the acoustic package...

This is a saloon car right? with an inch or so of suspension travel, what wheels and tyres are fitted?

Not sure why we are comparing it to an SUV tbh, with oddles of suspension travel, chunky tyres etc.

All seems rather daft imo.

In comparison my previous Audi S3 8V was way more comfortable and quiet than the CX60, but as it's not a comparable car, so I don't really bother doing it. I've never really rated Mercedes, the interiors always seem cheaply made and many of the engines utter clang boxes.

Would you let us know, where exactly you put the extra soundproofing? Especially under the bonnet, the rear arches and the boot floor...did you just put it everywhere? Or Somewhere more strategic?
What about the bootlid?

Yes, it's a saloon - the Station Wagon isn't available with Airmatic, which was actually the only reason for going with the saloon instead of the SW. "I" am comparing it to an SUV, because it's the only two cars i have available to actually compare side to side.

The Airmatic is also something that apparently should have oddles of suspension travel and the W213 E-Class has cunky tires as well. 245/45 in the front and 275/45 in the back, both 18" is something that SHOULD make a very smooth ride. The CX-60 has not that much more suspension travel.

Your S3 comparison is however not great, because the S3 is a much smaller and lighter car - the W213 E-Class is much heavier than the CX-60 and i'd say the unsprung masses are either similar or the CX-60 has less.
