Sounds

But there is not only phev system problems. Many people want to give the car back because of suspensions noise
We dont have the diesel in the UK yet, so not sure why you posted the UK Facebook group on a diesel thread as there are currently no diesels in there! I will probably be the first.

I'm a member of that group for a long time, and I havent noticed too many complaints over suspension noise, but I do know the bush creaking/squeaking is a common issue.

Thankfully, I have no suspension noise on mine...but maybe I will on the new one.

German Youtuber managed 3,6 l/100k over the ~200 km they've driven. They also mention in the Video that they didn't take any special measures, Mazda also filled the tanks to the absolut brim before and after with shaking the car. They also Mention, the Italians managed 3,2 l/100k, but they weren't sure if the DPF regenerated on their run.

Max. 80 km/h on the Spanish Highway, lots of serpentines through the mountains and a little bit of city driving.
They also mention that the drive line and chassis is miles ahead of the PHEV and way more harmonious, albeit being still very stiff and hard.

The joys of a driveway and therefore private land.

I do enjoy these BS articles though, normally stemmed from lobbying systems (the very type that tried to get rid of diesel and villianify it to support ideology that can make them money - exactly what is happening with EV's when everyone knows Hydrogen is the better way to go) LTN's in England have created more idling traffic than ever before in the past year, and yet they are here to stay and more are appearing every day.

That article is also three years old. So 'very soon' eh?

Is it illegal to engine idle in a driveway?
The legality of idling on a private driveway depends on its classification as a road.
The rules aren’t entirely clear. Annex 4 of The Highway Code states that references to ‘road’ “generally include footpaths, bridleways and cycle tracks, and many roadways and driveways on private land (including many car parks)”.

Indeed. 'isnt very clear', try holding 'isnt very clear' in court especially when private property is involved.

You seem to be commenting on a country that you do not live in nor have any real idea of and using your own country standard to judge it. Funny. Very authoritarian dictatorship stylee.

Anyhow, bring something relevant to the discussion that isnt three years old (that you seem to class as 'very soon) and also discuss LTN's - btw , I live in one of the worst LTN's in the country, so I know a thing or two about idling traffic.

First day of diesel test 200KM behind me (150km). Rav4 hybrid user experience:
  • the suspension is hard but rather to get used to, I did not notice excessive bumping or any creaking
  • the gearbox works smoothly and quietly
  • i-stop and sailing compared to the smoothness of the Toyota hybrid a little irritating. You can feel and hear the engine turning on, maybe not like in the old start / stop systems, but still. Fortunately, you can turn it off with a button.
  • the sound of the engine is great, quite quiet when driving calmly, piercing bass when accelerating hard. Compared to, for example, the BMW X6 30d which I recently drove much more resonant and sporty. It can be irritating in the long run, but it makes a huge impression!
  • fuel consumption at 140km/h - 8.5l, at 110km/h - 7l. It's hard to say around the city because I tested acceleration and sounds :)
  • very reliable driving on the road, you don't feel high speeds like in the rav4 and it's definitely quieter, especially less noise from the mirrors
  • acceleration at speeds above 80km/h could be better, so the additional 54HP will be useful in the 4x4 version.
  • seats in the back less than in the rav4
  • the trunk is the same
  • always on from the start, the system informing about leaving the lane unnecessarily sometimes beeps. It's a pity that it can't be turned on only on request like in rav4
  • the same automatic high beam always on after starting.

To sum up, I will probably decide to change, there is a WOW effect despite a few minuses.
Tomorrow the second part of the test...
