I used a Sandisk 32 GB SD Card with a USB card reader.
But you need to format it FAT32 and you need to have all the files copied in the main Card Root. No Folder should be created.
Please remember to take the Maps SD card out of it’s slot too.

What kind of usb drive did you guys use? This is my first time trying to update. Tried with my USB A 16GB pendrive formates to FAT32 and it says no update files found. Is planning to buy new drive, so need opinions pls.
I used old (USB2) 4GB SanDisk Cruzer (SDCZ36-004G) I had laying around.
Any old 2GB+ USB stick you can find in your draws should be sufficient.

P.S. And yeah, I did eject SD card with maps first as @cxega suggested.

Thanks for the suggestions. Finally found the culprit and able to update. My Windows 11 was creating a hidden system folder which I couldn't delete. Something about protection and windows. Well decided to boot my Ubuntu, formated it to Fat32 and voila that worked.

Wow, really? the first I heard about this, this is a problem with using Mac, I was not aware Windows is doing this as you are the first I have heard about with this problem, over 70 people with CX-60s have updated without issues, I hope this is not new since Microsoft latest Cumulative Updates for November?
What type of Windows 11, Home or Pro do you use.
Thanks.

:mad:Just me ranting, but I seriously I hate them all, all of them interfere with what you are doing, Microsoft, Google, Apple they all give me the creeps, it was never like this 10 years ago let alone 30 years ago.
These Tech companies employ too many kids who think-tank ideas, Apps, OS Changes which are always for the worse.
100s of Apps that people don't even use with constant weekly updates (Google), makes me mad.!
Microsoft "Paint" changed after 30 years and I can't use it now.
Chrome Browser Updates sometimes twice a week, then the message page on what they added which I don't need, its a BROWSER!
Sometimes when I use Google Chome browser and MS OS does not like what I am looking at MS cuts off my Ethernet wired connection!!, no warning just disconnected.!!
No wonder car companies can't keep up.
Rant over...

Interesting, you are not the first to say this, from the many I see daily the newer USB Flash Drives give the problems, when people pull out the old flash drives they work.
I also use the old Cruzer Drive also with the flasing light on the end, it always works. 😃

I'm not sure the system folders are the culprit. I use a new 128GB USB-C Samsung drive, and macOS throws a bunch of system folders in there. No problems updating.

Seeing as system folders are a normal thing for both macOS and Windows, most have no problems, you couldn't delete the folder, and worked only after formatting - I wonder if your drive (was it FAT32?) had the readonly flag set on the drive. I noticed the Mazda App on Mac when updating the maps SD card will use the SD card as a memory scratchpad for temporary files. It's likely the unit in the car is doing this also, and if it encounters a drive it cannot write to, it will fail.

This is of course speculation, but a detail worth leaving here for others in case the readonly flag is the problem.

OK Guys, I must admit I have not had a good search in this forum, but thought I would ask all you wonderful CX-60 owners IF You are having SOUND Problems with your cars Audio System?

The Following refers to CX-60's made BEFORE July 31st, 2023.
NOT Made AFTER this date.

Are you experiencing no sound from the audio system and/or the audio source cannot be changed ??.

IF so this can be fixed by a change to the Remote Tuner Software by a MANUAL Software UPDATE according to the bulletin, however I am having some issues finding correct files for CX-90, I have them for some other models but not CX-90.
Plus there is more than one type for CX-90.

So guys what I am asking first is there anyone actually having this dilemma??
Perhaps if you can please Message me rather than posting in this thread.

Ash

I got Windows 11 home with all the updates. I tried looking for it, and it's something created by windows when you have system protection. I don't see the option to disable it for my drive. Anyway I'm happy it worked on my Ubuntu as I'm more a Linux person.

it was FAT32 and I made sure of it. The car detected the pendrive, but when trying to update from USB, CMU said no update file found. I tried a microsd usb reader and it showed No usb drive found. I've then formated and copied using Ubuntu it worked straightaway.

Many thanks @ASH8 for the help and files!
The CMU & TCU updates work perfect for me.

BTW - FYI:
In my case, I downloaded and copy the files local on my iPad Air (2022). Afterwards I copied the local files directly to the inserted USB-C stick (FAT32, 256GB), one per update. As I mentioned, it worked for me without any problems!

To all a nice weekend 😊

A big "Thank You" to ASH8 for the files. The installation was smooth and without problems. I used a 64GB Samsung USB-C Stick with FAT32.
Best regards to the community and all CX60 owners.
