Has anyone found DAB radio to be pretty useless since installing 14018/TCU update? The radio keeps cutting out like it is loosing signal. It feels like the car has regressed to how the radio was in the early days of the CX-60 before an update came out that fixed it all. At that point the only way round the issue was to change to FM radio and then go back to DAB.

At first I though the issue was due to the rear dash cam being connected but even with the rear cam being disconnected the radio goes silent so that isn’t the source of the issue

You need to install the small DAB not working .kwi file, "message" me if you want to do it yourself or get your dealer to do it and explain what is happening, there is a thread here I started months back.

Sorry my bad, so you did the DAB no sound update?..
First to hear you are having issues, explain to dealer.

I had my dealer do a DAB update when it was released many months ago (6 to 9 months ago roughly?) and I could be putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 5. Im happy to try it myself to see if it fixes the issue - I will message you

For what it counts I have not got the problem and I have been ising DAB a lot since updatimg. The Radio fix was not needed for me as it was already up to date. Have only neen driving few days though.

One thing that still do not work for me is facial recognition. Even with 3 times the process done it recognize me only less than 20% of times.

Btw is there a way to eliminate the initial "distracted driver" message?
M.

@MM_svart hopefully the DAB update will fix the issue for me but good to know others aren’t observing the same problem, lol but with this car that isn’t a good indicator as they all seem to be unique lol.
The distracted driver is an option you can turn off. As I recall it is in the Safety settings. Alternative you can close the message when it comes on screen. I was tempted to turn it off as I get the message fairly often (specifically if I look down too far) but thought it best to leave it on as one day it might just be correct and save me

Thanks @ASH8 for kind support!

Performed update from EU 14016 to 14018, everything went smooth.

Some technicals, they might help:

Used a new Sandisk 32 GB USB, with both A and C connector (code: SDDDC4-032G-G46) - it came FAT32 formatted from factory.

Moved Sandisk files (apk and some info), than deleted the System Volume Information hidden folder (I am actively using Total Commander, but there are different options in doing this - just Google it).

Copied the correspondent .kwi file directly in the USB root.

Followed the procedure @ASH8 sent in the PDF.

As for timing, there is a total time of about 8 to 10 minutes (I suppose it depends also on USB speed at some point):

  • about 2 minutes initial file check and copy
  • reboot (automatically)
  • about 30 seconds verifying update files
  • about 5 minutes update 0% - 100%
  • about 40 seconds at 100 %
  • reboot (automatically)

Check the new version.

@cless986 : please check info in this post: https://www.cx70forum.com/threads/mazda-connect-firmware-update-files.40/page-5#post-5996

Thanks again, @ASH8 !

All the information (although a lot, I do this to prevent the SAME questions being asked and filling threads up with repeated info) is at the start of page 1, post 1.

To MESSAGE Me here click on the shortcut on page 1 in Yellow.

Hello and thanks for the file.

I'm a bit stupid and don't understand everything 😊. Does the car itself detect when the usb is in and update automatically? Or do I have to start something.
Um, read the instructions in the .Pdf that came with link, I have never been asked a question like that.

YOU ONLY copy the 'CMU_7000C0A-EU07_14018.kwi' File over to your USB Flash Drive.

As I said in message you only copy the file to usb drive.
see the .pdf you press the commanders buttons to get into correct screen, once you do it and Read the .pdf its very easy.
