Had to look at suspension front axle, this rattle is winding me up now. Look at the amount of rust on not even two month old car. This is way off in my opinion. On top of that, see how they fitted the shock absorber dust cover?! It's all deformed! Effing is unreal!! I'm going in tomorrow morning...

Can any of you please see the state if any rust is present? That anti-rollbar no comment.... What is this going to look like in two years??

How can there be so much rust already? That is not okay as I see it. And that dust cover...! Got mine week ago, need to keep an eye on it.

I love when people say they have new updated Firmware for the gearbox...as according to Mazda UK Technical there are no gearbox updates and the gearbox jerking is 'normal' behaviour..yet when I screengrab these comments and send them to Mazda Customer Service they refuse to comment.
Perhaps this one 🤷‍♂️ you will need Google translate

Thats insane. I havent seen older cars rust like that in years, let alone a few months. My previous Audi was 6 years old and was immaculate underneath with barely a spot of rust and our UK climate is fairly mild.

Also to say, since having the suspension changed to the 'softer' stuff, I now get suspension rattle, mainly from the front struts, but also the rear to lesser extent. Its now like the whole car rattles going on potholes and cracks in the road etc.

Thanks for the link, no matter how many ways I enter my chassis number into that, It wont accept it sadly

I was reading a US based article about this issue (not mazda related) a few weeks ago. Apparently it's become an issue over there too as cars are being partially built then stored outside waiting for chips to be delivered. It's only ever going to be cosmetic on components like that but it doesn't look fantastic. Not sure if the same is true of Mazda but the factory is on the coast and the car storage area is on some artificial land jutting in to the sea...

Assuming the car had the roll bars tightened it could also have been caused by the techs damaging the paintwork during that process?

I think with the car being so new and the order to delivery date only being 2-3 months I am not sure if Mazda would be affected in the way you describe but anythings possible I guess. Japanese cars in Japan arent even undersealed
as their climate does not call for it so not sure if this rust could happen while in storage there.

The thing with rust is that once its set in, its in. There are products that can hold it back but..its in.

I'm not having any rust on a two month car, there are component characteristics in automotive industry which have to be coated with paint that has to withhold certain number of hours salt spray testing. The chassis components on DAF trucks for example have to be rust free after 1000 hours salt spray test. This is nowhere near it. Metal looks like this with no coating applied. Just to compare the demo car I've seen this morning has no rust on the antiroll bar but some on the strut clamp.

Its been a few years since I was part of the Japanese car scene but the commonly stated reason for not undersealing JDM cars was because they don't salt the roads.

Certainly things around the coast in Japan rust from salty air the same as anywhere else if unprotected.

Feels a bit cheeky of the dealer not to have fixed it when they were doing the suspension though.

I've picked mine up.this evening and done about 30 Miles home, probably 25 of which were on the motorway.

Started with the battery charged to 75% ish showing 29 Miles of range. I had the car in normal mode and when I came off the motorway it showed 4 Miles remaining. I put it in EV mode and did the last couple of Miles and it said 3 Miles remaining and 20% battery when I parked up. Not sure what fuel I used in the journey but when I got in the car it was showing 26.2mpg and didn't start to change until right at the end. I think I had the music too loud to hear what the engine was doing.

Wireless charging didn't work properly as others have said. It would connect and start charging but then any movement of the phone in the car stopped it. I have a wireless charger built in to my desk at work and it is similarly as finnicky.

There was no rust on any of the suspension components, can't say that will last because I got absolutely pelted by a salt spreader on the way back.

My only real issue at the moment is a throbbing noise between 35-45mph. The demonstrator didn't do this, it reminded me of when the wind deflectors fell off the sunroof of my old rover.

I didn't notice any issues with the suspension. The dealer did say that it felt more refined than their demonstrator and he thought it had something different in the suspension.

I very rarely am able to get mine out of the 24-26mpg. If you dont reset the indicator (hold Info button down on the wheel) you get an accumulated figure which I is misleading as that amount rarely comes down.

When I took delivery the car it has 36mpg on it from a three hour trip to me. It never changed while driving around locally for weeks, so I thought I was quids in thinking I was getting this much mpg..but I was confused as technically this was 10mpg more than my previous car, yet my petrol station visits had remained the same, and actually marginally increased . Once I reset the meter, it went to 24mpg and never really changed, only went up slightly when there is a battery charge to use.

Been driving like 500km now and that throbbing noise is the real issue as you said. There are some minor ones as well but that noise... it starts right after 40mph goes up around 45mph. Its like both front windows were open and ypu drive a motorway. I will ask dealer about it.

I noticed it after my suspension upgrade and was going to go in, but last couple of days its gone away, as has my 2 stroking sound at 30 ish. Hope it lasts. Right now I've nothing to complain about.
Be inrterested to hear how you get on.

How many miles/km have you driven in total? Im at 480km and was hoping if it could get better on its own as time passes by and more kilometres is driven.

At the bottom part of the bumper in front there are two air vents left and right, which are permanently open. It may be that they make an additional noise at certain speeds and wind strength. You can try closing them with tape and test if the noise is gone.

If I remember correct, CX-60 has an active grille shutter so I don't think it's a good ideea to close the grille with tape.
The noise is coming either from the driveshaft or the rear differential.
It is present also above 80km/h (50 mi/h). But, at that speeds, it's mostly covered by the wind, engine and road noise.

I don't think he is talking about the grill, i may be wrong but i think he is talking about the air ducts at the bottom of the bumper adjacent to the wheels, they may be brake cooling ducts.

I think the tape idea is just a trial to see if it cures any of the noises as some have reported a thumping type sound like a wind deflector.

You're correct .. I saw "air vents" and locked on the idea of grille (I don't know why :) )... The air through those vents must have a very high speed in order to be able to send vibrations into the body of the car .. But worth a shot

It would mean doing everything. I, for example, do not encounter this problem
