It should not effect the warranty as it only a replacement part not a altered item. I have had aftermarket exhaust parts on every one of my past and present vehicles and they have always done warranty work on them without question. The intake can be questionable due to some restrictions. Some require a CARB sticker. But once living in CA no exhaust system that did not replace the CAT has always passed smog checks and if they pass that they are considered replacement parts.

 

I was thinking about this too. does this affect the warranty in any way? I would love to do some upgrades.

With a very few performance items out there I just installed a takeda, Axel back muffler and want to give my endorsement as what a difference it makes, very noticeable improvement in power you can feel especially in mid range. Small increase in noise level but sounds good and not obtrusive. Very noticeable in I drive start and stop, much easier start ability. This is on a S model but the muffler is the same for all CX-70 models. Will be glad to add the Cold Air System now!

Did you have to cut rear valance for exhaust tips or can you flush mount? There seems to be tons of ground clearance for a flush mounted set up?

No cutting required. The exhaust tips reach further out to the sides but still stay under the vehicle. Actually they are very close to the valance, and I am considering removing a very small portion of the underside for better clearance. Right now there is about 1/8 in clearance.

 

I have the same set up waiting for the intake available next month
