Some NEWS with EU07-14016

Mazda has Removed OTA Function related information for the time being with EO07-14016 Update.

Therefore the OTA Mazda Connect Update Function is NOT Available for ALL CX-60's Sold in Europe/UK/AU/NZ until further information from Mazda.
I expect once it returns it will be in and VIA a new EU07 Firmware Update first installed done manually.

And I do not have the reasons why, maybe later.

These were some of the updates or changes done with update Version 14016..

SYMPTOMS
The following changes have been made or the symptoms can be solved by the latest software (Ver.
7000C0A-EU07_14016).
(Ver. 7000C0A-EU07_14016)
• An incorrect screen may be displayed when connecting to Android Auto.
• Communication restriction mode is set while the Driver Personalization System is displaying
the authentication result, an incorrect screen may be displayed.
• MAZDA has REMOVED the OTA Function on EU-14016

Any news on this? My Mazda Dealer said Mazda is apparently planning something big with a huge update to speech recognition and various other things.

Looking on the SD-Card of mine, there are also a lot of unused things, especially Car-to-X Communication stuff and so on.

Australian cars (To my surprise and disappointment) appear to be completely in the dark. No data connection at all, no OTA updates, no phone app, nothing. Would be nice to think a future update would enable some of the missing tech.

Yes, as always Australia is last with Mazda, but OTA at the moment is a giant Pain. OTA has been stopped in EU/UK.

Yeah...that's something that irks me A LOT. The test vehicle i drove in February had that option. My Diesel doesn't. The Shift Logic is utter crap when driving with ACC on and changing speed. i NEED that option...

If your car has 14016 out of factory you wont get OTA to work as Mazda stopped it from this version. And yes is the current version, AU just got CX-60 6 months after EU/UK.
We now share everything EU as far as new car regs go.

Sorry for late response, yes there is and was always going to be a lot more user features and diagnostic features that Mazda monitors for the life of your car, collecting and storing Car Data in the background and then either uploading via OTA to Mazda Cloud or Data release when car is in for Service @ Dealership.

The Data is NOT anything to do with owners personal details, only in relation to Engine performance and tune, Batteries, Transmissions, ECU Tune, etc.

Yes, because analyzing my driving style and all of that Metadata that can be generated from that Data has nothing to do with personal details
After the whole Homeassistant takedown, i think this was the first and only Mazda, even though i'm pretty happy with the car.

The recent Management changes don't bode well. The Amazon Alexa introduction for the new MX-5 in Japan also something i HIGHLY disapprove of as an IT-Security Engineer. Mazda has been on Top of most lists of companies, that actually do well with user identifiable Data (even if that Data that is sent to Mazda/Amazon is anonymised, the Data can still be crawled and engineered if a breach happens), so that will also come to an end.

And Car-to-X Communication is not only that. Vehicle-to-Infrastructure and Vehicle-to-Vehicle is something the german manufactures have been using for quite some time, which allows to display warnings in the navigation screen. Like floodings, crashes, very high rain fall and so on. The vehicle you are driving also sends some Data (like, you're driving with a very high windshield wiper setting for extended periods of time and turn on the lights, you stop somewhere with the hazards on) to other cars, that Data however isn't saved.

Very unhappy with the disablement of OTA as well - there's absolutely no communication from Mazda, which is very sad to see, because it was very good.

Is there any reason why they turned off the OTA? I see some reports including official statements from Mazda that there is a big software updating coming on November which has some major fixes along the way. I'm not gonna believe untill it comes out though.

It is quite common in IT that major version upgrades/updates are not doable by end user. It is possible that "big software update" we all are expecting require also some firmware updates which are done only by Mazda services. If I'm reading between the lines correctly from some interactions I had with Mazda it is more likely that upgrade/update will be ready late Q1/24. My guess, because all of that, is that is why they disabled OTA since there will not be any more updates in current software branch.

True, I don't think it will be coming as an OTA. But I don't want Mazda to again release a half tested update to customers while we already have a lot other issues.
