My rear seats make a strange noise over slight bumps, took it in last week to complain and they tell me its the seat belt and they have a TSB for it, parts have been ordered. We will see what happens. That's one of about 4 rattles and noises the car makes over bumps.
is this TSB for cx 70 or for cx 60? Can't find any TSB like this for CX 70 in US

FM radio reception is poorer than in my previous cars. I actually listen to FM radio! I'll get screeching noise every now and then. It's annoying. The CX-70, for its price, is still a luxurious vehicle. The dealership changed the antenna (or some part of it) but to no avail.
Hi, There has been an update to Remote Tuner for CX-70 for sometime, which might fix your FM issue.
Though I personally think it is more of a "Mazda Connect" Update that is needed but Mazda Japan has not issued yet.
There is a procedure to look up Remote Tuner version number and see what is in car now.
Most Dealers ignore most updates, unfortunately.
Private Message me if you want to know how to check what verion of RT is in car now, I have a thread on it in forum.
And you can update RT yourself if it is needed.

Hate to hear about all of the CX-70 problems and good luck to all! Overall, love the vehicle, but I have a growing list of issues I hope will be addressed:
  1. No remote start on FOB (complete sham and we need voices loud here)
  2. Wireless charging is useless, so hopefully a software update will eventually fix. When I place iPhone on it, it opens my apple wallet. Lol, maybe Mazda is looking for more money...
  3. Rattles 🤬! Something annoying in console area I can't pin down yet (faint and high pitched), and something in the rear seats (maybe more). I see others with rear seat noise so I'll point that out to dealer. I do notice the rear seats vibrate (left to right) quite a bit when driving so not sure what that's all about?
  4. Something not great in powertrain when starting slowly. Like a hesitation between 1st and 2nd gear. Does not do the same in sport mode.
  5. Let me set the default drive mode to sport mode.
  6. Badging/emblems - need blackout badging - my model has no chrome so why the chrome badging?
Good luck to us all! New models of anything have risk but I purchased because my model is made in Japan and I believe in Mazda.
You will never get a remote start on the fob because they are using it as part of there subscription service. They are not going to give it to you free now.
I believe the hesitation in power is the same as what I am seeing. It's the idrive system engaging and disengaging. Mine is getting worse.
I would love to be able to set to sport mode all the time. Seems like it should be a thing.
I plastidipped all my rear badging. It looks sharp.

I used "black chrome" paint on my rear badges. Looks great. I have the front badge covered with masking tape as a test to see if any electronics will be effected when I "black chrome" paint it also. Got the dual exhausts
brought out the back with black powder coated stainless tips. Looks great also.

CX70 Turbo S PP. 3900 miles. Have had the following problems up to the date:

1. Rear seat rattling - have not figured it out yet where it is coming from. I wouldn't call it a bid deal. Both my 2022 BMW X3 and my 2020 Honda Passport had some rattling that was eventually fixed.

2. At 2.5K miles had the headlight malfunction error and AFL function died. The dealer updated the firmware, but the same message came back on my way home. Few days later, they replaced the driver headlight - this solved it but I had to visit the dealer 3 times

3. At 3.5K miles, ultrasonic sensor obstruction message pops up and rear parking sensors no longer operate. The first visit, the dealer said that the error code indicates that the rear ultrasonic sensor needs replacement, so they replaced it 4 days later but the message is still there, but this time there is no error code, so they opened the case with Mazda. 4 days later - nothing from Mazda. I call Mazda customer service and file the complain. Today, the dealer called Mazda again and managed to get Mazda engineer to spend considerable time with the technician.
As of EOD today, Mazda made the dealer to remove both front and rear bumpers, test wiring, pull some connectors, etc. The long story short - they will be replacing all front parking sensors, and if it doesn't work, they will replace the computer.

Never had a car with so many issues at 4K of miles. Common, Mazda! My 2022 BMW X3 has all same bells and whistles (plus more) and has had zero issues over 3+ years of ownership.

Yeah of the 3 Mazdas I have had this one is not the best… the wireless charger never works and my seatbelt is on and nothing else is on the seats. Apparently there’s a malfunction with the wireless charger, not working and the car seat seats in the second row flagging for the charger not to work.

The issue with my back seats rattling was fixed, by a seat belt cover and then putting felt around a the bottom metal bars.

my windshield fluid light went on after 6 months and hardly using it. Put in half a gallon and 2 days later went on again.

there’s been 3 recalls too.

Apple car play will randomly not work or phone won’t connect and need to do a whole connect phone again… had to do this like 12x and super frustrating.

the cx70 hybrid doesn’t have a neutral button even under the stick like the teslas… I grounded my battery leaving my car running… I had to have it dolly towed. Which is the WORST part of this car. Jumping my car didn’t even work.

I have the same issue with point #4. Maybe it's the handoff from the electric motor? Either way it seems off.

Hello, I have a 2025 CX70 non hybrid with 3k miles. Today I had an engine malfunction while driving on the highway and I barely made it to the shoulder. Electronics worked but it would not start. Towed it to the dealership. Has anyone else had this issue? Alert said "Engine Malfunction" I never had any issues with my Mazda6.

The cx90 forums are currently lite up with people having issues with the mhev battery dying right now. Most are saying it's because of the cold but I don't know where you live. Maybe it's the same issue as yours. My understanding is that if the mhev battery goes then the 12v battery can't charge properly and eventually dies itself. 2 month wait time for a replacement battery because so many are going bad in just a few thousand miles.

I’m in Texas, it’s in the 70s. I’ll update the group.

I am having the same problem! I thought I was losing my mind. It's clean and I go out if my garage and down my long gravel drive way esp if the grass has been cut and thrown on the driveway. It is all in the back floor boards and all on the side of the rear seats. I go maybe 7 mph down the drive! Took some pics of under the doors and I can not tell what I am looking at. I can feel the actual gasket!
I have attached a pic of the mess. Hopefully this will get resolved! View attachment 1494
I’ve seen a lot more dust inside ours than in that photo. Our dealer told us that the car is ‘within spec’, and that this is not happening when the car is moving. Their explanation is that it gets sucked in when the door is open.

There is clearly a LOT of dust outside the door seals, so this is credible. And it still seems like a non-optimal design.

Their suggestion is to open a window before opening the rear passenger doors. I don’t know if this idea, which is also non-optimal, actually works, because we didn’t find out about it until after last year’ drought was over.

I set up a camera in mine and it does indeed suck in when you open the door but it also comes in on its own. I absolutely never open my rear doors and it's filthy back there. Within spec is just them saying they won't fix it. It's clearly a defect and everyone should question what the long term outlook is in regards to rust and rot. Jeep had a design flaw like this on one of there vehicles and the door sills rotted right out first.

In just over three weeks of owning my CX-70 overall I'm very happy with it. Positives are the mpg's, quality build and handling. So far, the negatives are:
  • The facial recognition system is hit or miss.
  • Opening the rear hatch with a foot swipe is also hit or miss.
  • The start- stop function is a little clunky. Too bad you can't turn it off permanently.
  • I'm also getting a fair amount of fine dust at the rear hatch and doors as others have mentioned.
To me these are relatively minor annoyances.

I've had my new CX-70 for two and half months and I love it. Really the only thing that I wish is more or larger interior storage, like door pockets and cubbys and such. The center console is a joke. It's huge but they couldn't make the storage deeper or larger? But overall it's a great vehicle. I've had 10 Mazda's over the course of several years and they are great cars. The CX-70 is equal to or better than any Mercedes or BMW with the same features but less expensive.

Totally agree on the remote start not on the FOB. Getting into the app and going through all that to remote start the car is stupid. The app seems to have glitches as well. They need the remote start on the FOB!

And I noticed the hesitation too when starting from a dead stop. But I can say that after two months of driving it's getting better.
