Has anyone been able to update the maps for the in-vehicle navigation system? My dealer tells me the Mazda Update Toolbox doesn't work yet with the CX-60, but isn't that strange, when having had the car for almost 5 months? And I suppose in Japan/Asia the car has been on the roads even longer.

Does anyone have news about possibility to update the maps?
Pre-installed maps on SD of my CX-60 are quite dated now (2021) and because I often use the stock nav, I would like to finally update.
We are in Q2, but the Toolbox apparently hasn't yet been updated...

Is there any reason to use the internal mazda navigation instead of google maps or apple/ios maps via carplay? The mazda system does not even have online traffic support, it just supports the old TCM function. Are there any other benefits that i do not see/know?
Live Traffic (Connected services) provides real-time traffic information that helps you navigate and adjust your travel plans according to the latest traffic conditions and you can send a destination to the vehicle's navigation system in advance.

Yes right. But the mazda navigation system does NOT have such real time traffic information. Only the old TCM. So why using the mazda navigation system? But it does? You just have to set up the App, register and use the Mazda Toolbox. Pretty much the same as it is with other makes...

- Updating the maps also updates the location of active speed cameras and warnings, even if AA is not connected.
- On long journeys I sometimes don't connect AA (wireless eats phone battery.. ) so as not to arrive with flat battery of phone.
In any case, if I pay for a feature, I like to be able to fully use it.
My dealer told me that the mazda navigation system does not use the real time online traffice information, it only supports the old TCM via Radio. Thank you for this information. This was new to me.

Whenever there is no GPS signal available, the in-car navi software monitor vehicle's CAN-bus and read actual speed and the steering wheel position thus deducting where the vehicle actually is.
With CarPlay / Android Auto - forget about it

Simply: No. At least currently there is no chance to get any kind of online services with the CX-60‘s (so called) „infotainment“.
All other “informations“ are simply empty promises. Exactly like the „update possibility“ of the nav maps…

You should try Waze. Maps+traffic+stuff reported by users.

I've updated mine (SD card is behind rubber flap below the USB sockets - make sure vehicle is switched off - push card to release spring).
Tried cloning card, vehicle won't recognise it. Something else with the CID register to try. Will try again later.
