12v battery

Hi, new member here, located in UK. I have had my CX60 since September. Mainly short local journeys in EV mode. Warning has appeared on dash telling me that the 12v battery is low, and to start the engine. I have done about 40 miles on engine only, but warning still appears with annoying sound that continues for 30 seconds. I connected a battery charger, and left it overnight, for two nights running. Warning still appearing. Help!

Hi All.
New member from UK here.
Just took delivery of the CX-60 diesel.
Maybe dealer wanted to give me the car quickly and the PDI was not performed as it should.
From delivery until now each time I unlock the car or switch it off I have this 12V battery warning.
I have driven over 200 miles now (one trip was nearly 2 hours) so the battery should have been recharged by then. Unfortunately it's not a case with me.
Car is going back to the dealer and hope they will be able to resolve this and few other issues. View attachment 325 View attachment 326
Same issue with mine, couple of weeks into ownership. in fact, similar to you, this problem emerged after a long trip, before that I had only done short trips and it was fine. The first time it appeared was the day after a two hour airport run.

PDI not done properly despite me raising these common issues and updates prior to collection and they promised it was all done.

Another week to wait until they could fit it in.

So fed up with Mazda now, two of their 'premium' cars and two of the worst PITA's I have ever owned. It wouldnt be so bad if I didnt have to wait three weeks to get an appointment to fix the thing.
Managed to get the car booked for an update for tomorrow morning.
Dealer confirmed that there is an update to the BCM to remove the 12V warning.
It should take about 45 minutes to update.

Regarding the personalisation system - they will look does the system store any codes and will take it from there.
I picked up my (PHEV) car on the first week of March (2023) and after 1,250 miles, with about half in EV and half ICE, I have not experienced this. However, I recall that the dealer’s showroom vehicle had this problem when I first sat in it in February. Maybe a software or some other update has fixed it?

Sadly, it can come back even after this. I'm hoping I get lucky and it solves it.

Hope you get it solved. For me unfortunately software change didn't help. BCM has been updated, all settings were checked, battery has been swapped and the warning is still there 😢
It will now be escalated to Mazda UK for further instructions.

At least Driver recognition system is working 😃

Picked up same one 2 days ago (Croatia), got same problem 😬
This problem is being reported on multiple threads but just to update this one

After having the recall done, the 12vWarning has reappeared two days later and wont go away.

Battery had been fully charged and reconditioned also.

Another two week wait for a dealer appointment.

Little update on the 12v issue.

With the battery being fully charged on Friday morning, and the Low 12V Warning persisting, the car has been stationary since then, and this morning my dash cam is telling me that the battery is now low (it shuts its parking mode down when the battery is critically low).

Therefore there is still a draw on the battery from somewhere, so the Mazda recall module programming seems to have failed in this case.

So 12V Warning is a legit one after all. I assume that you use powerbank for dashcam parking mode and camera is not a culprit for battery drain. I don't think is to hard for Mazda service to find what is drawing current when car is not used but looks like it is a bit harder to fix it. What is more troubleing is that it looks like it is not charging as it should while driving a car.

I don't know if it is, as the 12v warning was happening on a fully charged battery and with the charger still

its charging correctly as the alternator output is 14.4v which is perfect.

Friend of mine picked up his Inline6 10 days ago. 12V update was done during PDI but car was showing Low 12V on delivery. He was told it will go away after some driving. I told him it will probably not. To my suprise he did a bit longer trip during the weekend (cca. 500-600km) and warning is gone! I'll update if anything changes.
