Mazda Navigation SD CARD Update Toolbox ALL NEW

Does anything happen when you press "Re-recognise Mazda Navigation SD card" Tab on the top right side of App?

No change, thinks about it for a second or 2 and brings up the same error.
Nothing unusual in the software log file, just the same error.
I can open the SD card file folder without any issue once the autoplay error has been closed without scanning.

You guys are going to have to complain to your dealer as I have found nothing about this issue anywhere in EU or NA...yet.

Just seems strange that one guy updates ok a few months ago and then does the next Map quarter and there is this issue.

Don't underestimate this has come from either Browser brand and or PC OS and or it's Antivirus, PCs like Microsoft are today a PITA. They think they know better and are just bloated POS and will block and or cut off data connections to your PC if they dont like the URL you are using in browser or what you are downloading.

Obviously there is some conflict that needs sorting out.

(Yet another) Thank you to Ash8. The link in his post works for me (as does the link through the UK Mazda website). Update took about 2-1/2 hours.
Be warned - if you Google "Mazda Update Toolbox" there are (at least) two other official Mazda websites, each which has a different version of the Update Toolbox. Neither of these worked for me (neither acknowledged the SD Card when plugged in).

After losing almost all my Sunday, finally I managed to update the Maps to version 23Q1 from 22Q4.
But very strange!
I've tried 3 times and failed to update. Each time failed exactly at the end (at final step) with a message like: "The Map data is corrupted. Please re-run Mazda Update Toolbox."
Strange that when reopening MapUpdateGlobalAdv the APP seemed to show that version 23Q1 is on the SD Card, but corrupted and suggested Update. Obviously the card didn't work in the car, not recognised.

3 times!!!! :(:(:( I also reinstalled the APP twice. No luck!

Finally - and thinking that anyway I need to see the Dealer in Dec for my 1 y Service - I've delete the whole card Data - Attention only DELETED and Not Formatted !!! - and copied the backup version I have made when I've done the first Maps update. This was the version the car came with (21Q1).

Then run again the APP MapUpdateGlobalAdv, which recognised the card as genuine now and running version 21Q1 (no issue), and suggested to update to the latest version 23Q1.
Done that (4th time! but this time from 21Q1 to 23Q1). And now I have the Latest version 23Q1. :cool:
But full bloody day lost with this :mad:

P.S. I was doing this on a MacBook Pro running MacOS Sonoma. What could have been wrong with the latest Mac and latest OS ... 🧐 ...
If I would have bothered looking for the old HP, still running Windows ...

Hello, I have the same problem. What data exactly did you delete on the navigation data card for this to work?

I deleted the just installed data for the version 23Q1, which at the APP MapUpdateGlobalAdv reported it as corrupted and suggested to Update again. After doing it 3 times made no sense to continue it a la long.

Plus - the Maps card was not recognized by the car anymore.

All 3 Folders in the Nav SD main root:
  • MAP
  • squashhfs
  • telenav_resources.

BUT, pls be careful! I had the 21Q1 backup to put back on the card. So when I restart the Update process again I was successfully updating to latest version 23Q1 from 21Q1.
Don’t delete anything if you do not have a working backup to put back!

I don’t know what was wrong this time, maybe because I was using a Mac Laptop, so Apple OS system. What sysmem are you using?
Previous update made, last summer (22Q4) went OK first time, but maybe because was done on a Windows PC.

Yesterday I did the map update using a Macbook Air. After several attempts where the process stopped during backup with error messages ranging from "memory card removed" to "data is corrupted" I started to suspect that the mac for some reason disconnected the SD card (or card reader).

My solution to the problem was as follows: I went into system settings and prevented the mac from putting the harddrive (i.e. SD card) to sleep. Once I did that the update process went without any further issues.

Have had exactly the same error as in the post from @cxega but with my Windows PC.
Also the solution was the same but again with the Windows 11 laptop.
My car dealer told me that for them it will take 4 hours to update, so tried that solution myself and it has worked nicely.

Unsure which one, I think it depends on where and when the car was bought.
But I have had no luck with updating my maps, nether software will recognise my SD card even though it seems to work perfectly in the vehicle. I'll be getting mazda to have a look next I see them.

See post #1. I just added from Mazda a .Pdf showing Models and links to use to update your SD Card for Navigation.
