Mazda has just released a new Mazda Update Toolbox for NAVIGATION SD CARD..

SEE MY SECOND POST REGARDING CHEAP ONLINE PURCHASED SD CARD WITH NAVIGATION, THESE ARE ALL COUNTERFEIT CARDS AND IF PUT INTO "MAZDA TOOLBOX APP" THE CARS VIN WILL BE LOCKED OUT or BLOCKED AND WILL REQUIRE NNG TO UNLOCK THE CARS VIN.

Please note that the older up to 2023 model year Map Update Toolbox App for 7th Generation Mazda Connect cannot be used with the Navigation SD Cards with the following part numbers.
Use new PDF below with Toolbox App link on right of .pdf.

The Part Number should be printed on your Navigation SD Card Label.

Part Number Destination
KMV6 66 EZ1 USA/CANADA/MEXICO
DRVR 66 EZ1 USA/CANADA/MEXICO
KR9D 66 EZ1 USA/CANADA/MEXICO
KAAA 66 EZ1 EU&UK/RUSSIA for CX-60
KS0G 66 EZ1 CYPRUS
BJGB 66 EZ1 EU&UK/CYPRUS
KS1A 66 EZ1 AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND For CX-60

List below is from USA Mazda.

There appears to be a new conflict which "could" corrupt Navi SD Card, not certain if it is PC OS or PC Browser or Toolbox App or the Maps Files or the PC Antivirus.
Just take note if you see any download Warning Pop Ups.
Some Browsers like 'Google' are being PITA.

Download the .PDF in this post, it is the latest information and the links work (sorry it is the best I can do right now) when you click on the "Mazda Toolbox" in blue accept to open link and you will see the official Mazda Navigation page for models listed on left, then you search for toolbox to update SD Card. YES this detail is from Mazda I had to convert from html to pdf.

Yes the Genuine Mazda Part Numbers above is for the all new CX-60, CX-70 and CX-90 with NAVIGATION SD Card.
CX-70 and CX-90 SD CARDS ARE NOT THE SAME DO NOT SWAP.

The CX-70 uses online updates and connection for Maps in a combination with the specific
CX-70 SD Card.
Be aware these cheap sold online SD Cards with Navigation are counterfeit and could lock your car (by VIN) out in the future.

**From Mazda NAO to Mazda Dealer for Owners complaining of Navigation issues.

If you suspect a counterfeit Navi SD card, ask the customer for proof of purchase.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If it cannot be determined to be counterfeit by visually looking at the label (the counterfeit label is perfect) and Mazda Toolbox is used, the VIN may be locked-out if a counterfeit SD card is detected and NNG will need to be contacted to unlock the VIN when a genuine Mazda SD card is purchased.**

See Mazda Toolbox Piracy Notice, if you see this or similar your Navi SD Card is either counterfeit or your cars VIN needs to be entered into NNGs Database, I was told you can use the piracy@nng.com link to contact them to unlock your cars VIN, but proof of purchase may be asked by them.

For you guys in Europe and UK with CX-60 this link above should work without issue, HOWEVER, just remember this was only launched a few hours ago, so it may have teething issues? your SD Card Number is KAAA 66 EZ1.

And yes for guys in Australia/NZ with the all new CX-60 to be released next week this above link will also update your Genuine SD Card Navigation Maps, your SD CARD Part Number will be KS1A 66 EZ1

Remember you will have to register your Navigation SD Card in Toolbox via your PC and SD Card slot in PC.

@ASH8 thank you for the info.
My CX-60 is the first Mazda car I have owned. Do Mazda tend to make nav updates on a regular basis? Or is it more adhoc?
Mazda works with different map providers from time to time, previously it was TomTom. We will now see how Navteq/Here deal works out on CX-60.
Judging from experiences of CX-30 users, there are no standing ovations...

The lack of OTA Updates is just disturbing and backwarding. Beside of that, thanks to ASH8 for this information.
God bless Apple Car Play.
Boohoo.

I've had 3 failed OTA Updates on my Mercedes, needing me to either do some IT-Magic or directly going to the Dealer. I'd rather have a simple SD Card that i can just update myself.
Sending over 8 Gigabytes to every single Car and every single user is just a logistical nightmare and costs a fortune in most countries. Which is also the reason, why you only get ONE country per OTA Update on Audis, BMWs and Mercedes'. If you want some other European part updated, you have to do it yourself with a USB-Stick. And that's when you have to sit in the car for hours (or leave it running) - and don't dare to turn it off, because apparently German Software Programmers are utterly stupid and cannot implement simple fail safes.

Stop whining and appreciate we are able to update at all.

I'd be concerned. My MacBook doesn't report any problems.

Also, as I've just found out, if you do a backup you can't restore it to a new blank SD card - Doesn't let you. So if you have a Mazda SD card that could be developing faults I don't think you've any other option than to ask your dealer to replace it.

I see no point in doing a backup to be honest, if you can't use the backup as insurance against damaging your SD card. What I've done in the past when I had an SD card in a TomTom was backup the original card, download to a new blank SD card and then keep the original safe somewhere and use the copy.

Why we can't do this with the Mazda Nav Card baffles me. You can't do the backup or update until the SD card is VIN locked to the car, so it's not as if I could be selling copy cards on eBay or similar.

I need to post this Update as a possible correction to my advice given on first page.
This is all somewhat new and somewhat vague from Mazda EU/AU/UK.

However in the CX-60 according to recent information has not and never has used NNG/Here for Navigation Maps on your SD CARD Hardware.
The updated or new supplier for Mazda Navigation Maps is TELENAV.

So now there are TWO Mazda Toolbox Apps for SD Card Map Updating since about 2014MY Mazda's.
Which one to use is determined on the Cars VIN from a dropdown search.

Again from start of production the CX-60 uses TELENAV according to a chart and genuine SD Card Part Number and probably why some owners were having issues trying to update SD card with the original Mazda Toolbox App (#1) meant only for NNG /Here.

The Link in my First Post to a Mazda Toolbox APP #2 should still work for CX-60 owners in EU/UK and NZ and Australia.

The 2024 Mazda 3 and 2024 CX-30 from VIN 400000 (last 6 Digits) now also use TELENAV and NOT NNG/Here, the Genuine SD Card Mazda Part Number is BJGB 66 EZ1 .

The KF CX-5 from VIN 350000 uses same SD card and TELENAV Maps as CX-60, the Genuine SD Card Mazda Part Number is KAAA 66 EZ1 .

For CX-60 Owners in EU/UK/AU/NZ this is still the link to use to download the Correct Toolbox App to update Genuine CX-60 SD Card Maps.

IF you have bought an SD Card outside of Mazda Dealership at a cheap price you will probably find that you can not update the Maps as your card is considered counterfeit, in other words if car did not come off the production line with a genuine Map card associated with cars VIN then if like NNG/Here it will block you from Registering and using the Toolbox.
For TELENAV this black out or lock out has yet to be confirmed.

TELENAV Toolbox App

You might have to change your ' REGION ' Drop Down, see top right of above link.

More to come..

Apparently Mazda changed their Maps supplier from Here/NNG to TELENAV as Telenav has a better system, clearer and cleaner Maps and better Cloud Storage. Also won 'JD Power' award for best in car Maps 6 times in a row!

I expect all their other Mazda models will eventually change to Telenav.

What PC are you using, is it the PC Antivirus?, try turning off.
Plus what Browser are you using, either Google and Microsoft Chrome have become increasingly "Interfering" in what users do.

I personally get "there is a problem with this drive" from Microsoft when I insert a particular USB Drive into PC and there is not, just ex it out and ignore it (message). While SD Card is in PC then launch browser and Mazda Toolbox ...?

Get back if that works....make sure you select Australia New Zealand in drop down also.

Can you be more specific, what is saying sd card is corrupted, your PC or the Car after you insert UPDATED card???

If it is your car then YES, you must take to dealer and tell them. I have seen no advice from Mazda about this, does not make sense, how can Toolbox update Card and then it becomes corrupted.

If it is PC saying this, DO NOT RE-FORMAT SD CARD AS YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA ON CARD AND CARD WILL BE BLANKED OUT.

Ok, a couple of things stick out.
You said you updated before and SD Card worked OK in car YES after the FIRST Map Update, did you use the same PC with same Toolbox App installed? YES?

THE second time you used same Toolbox App already installed from 1st install or did you re-install App? Or you used a different PC?.

My Prior experience, I am NOT a Mac user or Apple hardware at all, but I know Mac installs "Hidden Files" on Gen 6 Mazda Connect Firmware and the cars CMU wont read USB Flash Drive to install Firmware because of hidden files, not saying this is the case here but did Mac do any PC major updates between your two sd card Map updates?

Do you know anyone with a Windows PC where you can view the contents of the sd card and DELETE ANY Hidden Files, but if you are not comfortable doing so then do not.

As yet have not heard from Windows users it maybe PC brand/type related?

As I said I get this Error Warning on a USB Drive using a program on a Windows 11 PC, I just x it out and ignore warning and all works fine.

At the moment I believe you should see your Dealer and show him the issue.

When I find out more I will post.

Hi Ash. Thanks for the reply. Yes I used the same Toolbox app as the first time. There has been a system software update for Mac but I did also delete the app and re-download it but still the same outcome. I think once it corrupted the first time whatever update it downloads doesn’t overwrite the corrupt code/file. I have a Windows PC at work I can check for hidden folders but that won’t be until Monday.
Thank you once again for your time on this issue, it’s much appreciated.

#39 ·
OK, Yes if you have a Windows PC check the Contents, any Hidden Files or Folders will be dated when you did last Map update if is was written on SD Card, as of today there is no alert information from Mazda on this matter.

I remember when GEN 6 came out the Mazda Toolbox App for Mac PC was late to the scene and gave issues but was eventually sorted out.

You guys are going to have to complain to your dealer as I have found nothing about this issue anywhere in EU or NA...yet.

Just seems strange that one guy updates ok a few months ago and then does the next Map quarter and there is this issue.

Don't underestimate this has come from either Browser brand and or PC OS and or it's Antivirus, PCs like Microsoft are today a PITA. They think they know better and are just bloated POS and will block and or cut off data connections to your PC if they dont like the URL you are using in browser or what you are downloading.

Obviously there is some conflict that needs sorting out.

(Yet another) Thank you to Ash8. The link in his post works for me (as does the link through the UK Mazda website). Update took about 2-1/2 hours.
Be warned - if you Google "Mazda Update Toolbox" there are (at least) two other official Mazda websites, each which has a different version of the Update Toolbox. Neither of these worked for me (neither acknowledged the SD Card when plugged in).
