news !
This would be the water pump for the battery cooling circuit.
Mazda France (for me) recommends the disassembly of this pump and lubrication. Anyway, no possibility of changing it because it seems that this pump is out of stock (this breakdown is common according to my Mazda mechanic, on a 2000km car it's crazy!). What's crazier is that Mazda is not organizing a recall campaign for this problem in anticipation !!!
But let's stay zen :censored::cry:

:) at least they found the problem.
Here I’m still waiting on news from them…
Hello,
water pump failure confirmed!
this pump (luckily) can be disassembled and the mechanic confirmed to me that the turbine was blocked (no way to turn it by hand !)
The problem is already known to Mazda since they have published a procedure to fix it

Repaired car, therefore, but we may be surprised that this pump is already in such a state when it is new ???
very strange :unsure::unsure::unsure:

Really very strange.
I commented with my mechanic today what the problem was in your case but he thought it’s not related because when they were able to reset the car brain, the car is working without faults. They still haven’t released it to me because Mazda Europe said they should do a special test with a special tool that they had to order and that consists in sending a 500 Volts discharge to the battery system when then read the results this machine would give to ensure no electrical leaks would occur.
Although I understand they want to make sure it won’t have any electrical leaks, because of safety, after having that red alert, I’m not confident that the problem will be solved for the future as they haven’t really found the source of the problem in the first place.
Do you have picture’s of the alerts showing in your car when you had the problem?

I understand, reading your last post, that we do not have the same problem!

To answer your question, no, I didn't have the presence of mind to take a photo during of the breakdown (I was pretty busy getting the car to safety ).
The only thing I have are the notifications from the "MyMazda" app that says:
"Critical malfunction alert", the vehicle cannot be driven

Hello again.
It's normal in the rush of things happening :)
Since I had a long wait on the side of the road for the tow trucks and the chief mechanic I had time to seat and calm down and therefore remember to take some pictures for future reference and to ask in this forum if someone had already faced similar situation.

And now for the update: After two weeks in the mechanics, and after doing the test I referred on my previous message, apparently we do have the same problem. Mazda Europe pointed the local mechanics to the water pump and the part was ordered. Since it's coming from Belgium I'll only have the car next week, hopefully.

Getting tired of driving the 4 series BMW they got me as a replacement vehicle. Me trying to go away from BMW and they give this car :) Bought the CX60, among other reasons, to be more comfortable getting in and out, and now faced with a "go kart" again :)

Hi,

I had same issue yesterday morning. 3000 km.
Water pump for cooling the battery is the fault.
There is NO stock (Spain) and waiting for delivery date.
It is so painfull to get stop in the highway with a New car.

Sorry to hear about your problem. How I understand you. At least now they quickly understand the problem and get to the solution. For me it was 2 weeks until they realized what was wrong with the car.
Unfortunately parts seem to be a problem. In my case they said the part was coming from Belgium and it should arrive in the beginning of next week.
Just in this thread you are the third case with the same problem. I think it won't be long until we see a recall in all cars. It's not normal to have brand new cars facing this kind of problem.

Hello,

the same problem occured Thursday last week on my car. Mazda informed me today that the water pump should be delivered tomorrow. So it seems that the garage (in Germany) did not search very long to find the mistake.?The car is going the be repaired next week.
However I could start the engine after waiting over one hour on the side of the road by starting it in "sport modus"

Hello everybody,
what seems extraordinary to me (apart from this type of unbearable breakdown on a new car) is the repair of the pump for me in France.
Upon confirmation of the breakdown (it didn't take long) Mazda France recommends disassembly, cleaning and lubrication.
it took longer to dismantle everything (the water pump is under the front bumper) before the repair itself ... I picked up the car the next day
I have driven for almost 1500Km and no problem since !
Fingers crossed ! 🙄🙄🙄
(I keep the idea of starting in sport mode .. not stupid, indeed)

Hello.
Just an update. Last Friday, finally I got my car back. Working well until now. The water pump was replaced and hopefully I'll have a few months/years until the next problem as this first 5 months of ownership have been quite eventful
