Digital dash starting sequence

I have a Soul Red Crystal too... and the startup animation also shows a red CX-60 ...



But at the end of the animation it turns into white or grey ... Also in the middle display it shows a grey CX-60 ...



Also in the MyMazda app on my Phone it shows a white CX-60 ...

My animation is the same…..Soul Red Crystal, then…….fades to Grey….(cue, Visage song).

The Red (or whatever) Car start up animation is stunning, but I suspect the dull grey when in motion is deliberate to avoid driver distraction and to mirror the grey hues of the Heads Up Display. We need eyes on the road and I personally think a colour matched car when in motion might be too distracting. I generally feel that the Lane Control and Radar Cruise Control animations are already too distracting when the key data is already available in the HUD. The White in the APP simply reflects the only free paint option.

Frankly, I don’t think too much user control is wise. My Mercedes E350D had colorful ambient internal lighting that could be adjusted into 256 shades/hues. Frankly, it troubled me for weeks while I decided my preference, so again, this was a feature distracting the driver in motion. Eventually, I found it so annoying I minimised its illumination. I reckon there is a fine line between user preference and driver distraction.
