The sound of it is lovely and sure beats the ragged and tortured 2.5 4 cylinder in the PHEV

No idea, but I think its a pre-production test video, so could be anything involved in the testing process, they could be looking at the mapping and adding in a fuel cut on the second run etc.

Certainly sounds nice! I've put a deposit on one now, to swap the PHEV for. Should be here by April.

I've had a watch of this one to, gives quite an honest representation of the noise in the cabin from the diesel.

Having read a lot about this engine, Mazda have specifically detuned it massively for environmental reasons..so from my experience of mapping diesels. I think a remap on one of these could see 325bhp and 700nm+...literally, a train.
