I brought my brand new CX70 into the dealer for a transmission wine. When slowing down and they just told me it's normal. It's a battery in the transmission. I would've never bought it if I heard it originally any one else?

I don't know what "it's a battery in the transmission" is supposed to mean. (That's not a thing.)

Sound wise, Mazda declared it normal:
1 to 2 SHIFT GRUNT NOISE UNDER MEDIUM TO AGGRESSIVE THROTTLE (PHEV)

Some owners find they improve their experience by utilizing the manual paddle shifters (behind the sides of the steering wheel). Check out the thread of comments in the above.

Also, confirm your vehicle has had the Feb. recalls ( 7024J/7124J). Some have reported an improvement after this.

When I bought mine I test drove several and picked the one with the least transmission whine and clunks. They all varied to some degree. I wouldn't have even bought the vehicle but the wife was going to get it one way or another so I made sure I got the best one I could. 7k miles later and I guess I picked wrong because mine has a while host of issues. Mazda says it's normal but it's not, it's terrible. And getting worse. That's the real problem in my eyes, the fact that Mazda has deemed noise and jerkiness as normal yet they can't really measure it accurately so all noise and jerkiness is normal no matter how severe and I would say mine is severe. There are several videos posted on here and the 90 forum of people with absolutely horrendously loud transmissions that are way. Way worse than mine that have been told it's normal by Mazda. I guess turning up the radio loud enough where you can't hear it anymore is a viable fix. Just like mazdas viable fix to safety system sensors problem that they can't properly fix is to tell me to make sure I park in my garage so bad weather doesn't effect it. Sadly I didn't know buying a garage was mandatory when I bought this thing so I suffer with all sorts of safety errors.

Mine has whine, clock ticking sounds, grinding noise at lower speeds, very jerky istop when it turns on... loud engine start up sounding like a diesel... the list goes on and on and on . List keeps growing the more i drive it. Erratic unsmooth acceleration at lower speeds..this car is so unrefined I am actually shocked.

Funny thing is I test drive the cx70 twice before I bought mine and non of those had my issues..I think the dealerships just give you the best one to test drive with least amount of problems and decives you in a way.. I would have never bought it if I felt or heard any of those issues.

I am so fed up after spending so much money on this thing. This car is one big lottery and Mazda don't care what you get.

Shame on you Mazda. Abysmal.

UPDATE..I took my 2025 cx70 mild hybrid in to a mazda dealership which as of now has 4300 miles. For the same reasons I listed in my post above..Jerky transmission..unsmooth acceleration.. grinding noise at lower speeds..loud engine startups almost like diesel engine sound... Well it was all a clear waste of time. Cant say I'm surprised. They kept my car overnight, and when i returned after spending my time going back and forth.. they stated nothing I mentioned they were able to replicate.. and the loud whiney sound engine at startup is "normal"..yet they have no reason as to why... they just talk in circles and make you feel you are the crazy one for complaining about it.

Im not sure what can be done at this point.
