Mazda has issued a TSB related to cars Wireless Charger for iPhones,
while the TSB is involved somewhat there is a software fix, however, it is worth noting that in many
cases the owner is not centering phone correctly and or they have a phone case for phone that is too thick (on it's base back).

It is also worth noting that this wireless system is technically Only for compatable from iPhone12~ and is in-fact a MagSafe charger in CX-60 dash designed by Apple.

So for Android Phone Users.. a Google (not Mazda) Search says this about MagSafe Wireless Charger...

Only some Android phones, such as the Google Pixel 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, can work with the charger. Apple created MagSafe for its MagSafe charger, so your universal MagSafe ring won't charge as quickly.

See Attched .PDF for more info from Mazda.

Thank you for publishing this very useful information. I'm sorry to disagree with your summary though - the Mazda PDF says that their Qi charger is NOT compatible with Magsafe (from iPhone 12).
It says it is a standard Qi charger which IS compatible with most Android phones. See the PDF where it states:

NOTE: If the mobile device is not placed at the center of the wireless charger (Qi), charger performance will be less than expected.
The wireless charger (Qi) is not compatible with MagSafe introduced on iPhone 12 and later and if the mobile device is not placed at the center of the wireless charger (Qi), charger
performance will be less than expected.
NOTE: About MagSafe
MagSafe is the charging system using magnetic alignment device introduced on iPhone 12 and later.
Not only at Mazda vehicles, on wireless chargers not compatible with MagSafe, proper area for best charger performance is limited depending on user environment such as a case, position of
the mobile device, remaining battery and/or device temperature.
Regarding the wireless charger (Qi) mentioned on this Service Information, charging performance of a MagSafe compatible mobile device is not expected to be improved.

So there is some good news here for Android phones - no good news for Magsafe iPhone users.

Awesome isn't it? A car released in 2022 isn't very compatible with essentially the world's favourite phone which has had magsafe since 2020 :/

A simple popup mechanism to raise the charging coils could make the pad work with both magsafe and old style Qi.

The wireless charger is not made by Apple, it’s a Qi charger probably made by Laird with no MagSafe magnets. This means an iPhone will not self align or keep aligned right at the charger coil. An Android smartphone will not do that either. So half of the TSB is bullshit.

iPhones are Qi compatible. MagSafe is only a patented “technology” if you can call it that, with magnets to keep the charger coil and iPhone aligned for a perfect coupling.

Yes, but iphones (and these days many others) have ever bigger and bigger camera bumps, raising the charging area off the Qi flat pad. All manufacturers, not just Mazda, need to deal with this going forward. Magsafe has been adopted officially for Qi v2 so hopefully in future cars will come with fit for purpose wireless charging. Unfortunately I see no likely 100% solution for our cars with the wireless charging currently installed.
