CX-60 No Sound and or Station Information on DAB Radio.

Some CX-60s equipped with the DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio may exhibit both of following concerns.
- There is no sound.
- Station information screen does not appear.

This applies to EU CX-60's made from March 15th, 2022 to November 18th, 2022.
Or following VIN numbers, 000001 to 117130 (last 6 Digits).

CAUSE
Improper software of the cars remote tuner.

MASS PRODUCTION CHANGE
Control software of the remote tuner has been modified.

Updated file is 10959 or RT_7000R0A-KAAB_10959.kwi
This is only a small software file of less than 9 MB in size.
You install via a USB C Flash Drive and port in cars console.
Takes about 10 minutes to run.

It appears not all CX-60s within this VIN number range has this issue however I suggest you either complain to your Mazda Dealer that you can't hear or see your selected DAB Stations
and hope they do the software update, or if you wish you can update software yourself by contacting me here via a Direct Message.

While take up requests has been average for this new DAB+ Firmware Update for all UK and EU CX-60's It could and should be much better, YES you can do it yourself as it is very easy so just get it done...OK., Either direct message me for file and update instructions yourself or get your Mazda Dealer to update when your CX-60 is in next in for Service....and NO it will NOT Void your New Car Warranty by doing it yourself!.
You own your Mazda CX-60 not your selling Dealer or Mazda, Mazda can not dictate what you can or can not do to your property, in this case this code update is Genuine Mazda and ONLY Mazda.

UNFORTUNATELY some Mazda Dealers will Not Automatically do this small Update because of STUPID MAZDA POLICY, that is YOU MUST Complain of a Drop out of DAB+ Radio when selected or while listening, tell them it goes OFF the Station at time of car exchange, get Service Advisor to make a note on your hard copy REPAIR Order, BEFORE YOU SIGN CAR IN :) .

Hi,

I had sometimes this problem when the car was started. Then there was no sound and the Station list was empty. Short problem solving: switch off the Mazda Conncet System and switch it on again. It always solved the problem but the final solution will be the SW update.

Thanks ASH8 for the info and the soultion.

Greetings
Gosztya
I’m having a similar issue that is intermittent.

when returning to the car, I get nothing. The only solution I’ve found is to choose FM, then when it comes on, switch back to DAB and it works OK.

It’s not every time, but the vast majority. Very annoying.
Software version on car is 14012..
is there a separate software update for radio ?
Yes there is separate software for Radio you have to private/direct message me., that is what last line above says.

My radio yesterday started working as expected. I haven't been in or downloaded anything dodgy. The tech said they could do it automatically so I guess that's what happened.🤨
@ASH8 would you think, that installing the update via usb will somehow void my warranty? Is it trackable with the service computer? Thanks a lot!
No it's not trackable, it is Genuine Mazda. Having worked in Dealerships for decades they could not care less.
THE REASON I do this is because Dealerships worldwide just don't do it unless you complain of an issue, then I hear people get fobbed off.
Don't get me wrong there are some very good Dealerships but are few and far.

Good luck with that, and I don't do dodgy things.

Apologies: No dishonesty implied, or offence intended. I only meant doing something away from the Dealer from any source. My son-in-law is a wizard at remapping cars. Currently transforming a Vauxhall Insignia. Offered to remap mine. Declined!.

Naturally aspirated engine thats already quite highly strung, so probably wouldn't see more than 15-20bhp gain in it, no point really imo.

The Turbo Diesel thats coming, I think there is probably a good 60bhp/120nm at a bare minimum lurking there!
!20 miles today with at least 6 starts. The Dab worked fine everytime. Don't know how they did it but it worked.

Yup Ive had no issues with it either since it cane back too

Hopefully thats one issue solved forever :)

wireless chsrging pad next.
Spoke too soon: Today, suddenly after 2 trips it conked out again. Coincidentally dealer rang to say a software update is available, come in and get it done. Takes about 20 mins.
Same file I offer, sounds like you have a good Dealer, if your car is with the ViN numbers I posted then ever owner should get the DAB fix done, around 6500 cars need to be done in UK /EU.

I just updated using ash8s file, worked like a charm. Is used an old 8gb usb stick with a usbc to usb adapter frol amazon. Took about 10 minutes to update and graphics reminded me of good old ms dos days.

Dab now works after every startup of the car.

Yes I'm happy with my dealer. Always feel they are on my side, although this is the first Mazda I've had, that had any issues at all. Never made me feel I was being a pain.
Some interesting comments about how Mazda handle "warranty" issues, that I won't go into.
Thank you @ASH8 , firmware upgraded successfully. (y)
