Car stops charging before hitting Maximum Charge on the 3 pin cable

Hi I see a number of people have had this issue where the car often doesn't fully charge but says 'Charging is Complete' when using the 3 pin charge plug. To get the car to fully charge we had to repeatedly restart the charging process by unplugging and re-plugging the charger back into the car. A complete pain in a cold winters night. After about 3 or 4 attempts it would run through the full charge process to 100%. We had this experience at two different houses and across different plug sockets within both garages.

I had the car in my local Mazda last week so that they could see the issue and 'run diagnostics'. We monitored it remotely ourselves using the Mazda App and saw that the same issue occurred when it was in the Mazda garage. So they saw the issue.

I since been told the issue is related to the 3 pin cable and that Mazda are making a change to this cable and they will send me another 3 pin cable when they receive it. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

I will let the Forum know if it does.

Hi - This might be obvious, so apologies but I had the same issue of charging stopping after 30 mins. I now follow the order as specified on the chrage car flap. 1.plug the 3 pin plug in, 2. switch the socket on 3. connect it to the car - since I have been doing this it charges to 100% every time

Still hit&miss for me. Can't relate to temperature. Failed few times when temps were above 20C, completed few times when it was under 10C. I've sent my charger s/n to them and they are investigating :)
I have also reported to our dealer the same thing. On Wednesday I have appointment and they will fix recall and sound proofing. Will report how it went

That is the only way I do that minus the switch thing since my 3-pin socket is always on.
