Hi,
Are 3.3 200hp and 254hp engines somehow different? Is it possible to remove limiter by Forscan from 200hp version?

Its likely to be a combination of the mapping, turbo and injectors. But it could be one on its own. The engine will most likely be the same.

I would imagine, a slightly larger turbo and increased CC injectors, with a remap to suit.

I'd love to see a workshop manual for them both, but guarded secrets at my Mazda dealer!
Point is, in the past Mazda was limiting power of the same engines. For instance: 2.0 Skyactiv-G can be unlocked from 120hp to 165hp & 150hp. I just hope it is the same with 3.3 200-->254hp

I see, so there is no remap needed for that to happen?

It sounds remapping is required and if thats the case then you’ll likely see more than 200 out of the 200 engine sfter a remap but i doubt you’ll get to 254, it depends a lot on what turbocharger and injectors are capable of, as well as the compression ratio.

I expect to see around 300-325bhp and 700nm when i remap my 254.
We can check parts number based on specific VIN - this is not a problem.

Based on the fact, that turbocharger has the same part number for diesel (based Global Electronic Parts Catalogue (GEPC) ), I think it is software only

Currently I have 2018 Mondeo mk5 2.0 diesel. I bought it with 150hp version, but with Forscan and conviniece of your own garage you can remove power limiter just by changing 1x setting (really easy procedure). In this case no remapping is needed.

How about injectors and fuel pump?

Ive never heard of a ‘power limiter’ could you explain what this exactly is?

Ive remapped many cars in my life, I've never discovered a ‘power limiter’, so very curious. Have you got any links to be able to read?

Fuel pump:

all looks the same from the code number, but like I said it will be better to have VIN numbers to compare

@sebastian.bialowas do you have a 200 RWD VIN number you can send to Bart? He has a 254 already.

Bart, it shows two turbos on that parts list a T3 and T3R? I presume they are Honeywell turbos, but is it not a twinscroll charger?
I cannot see any further info about the manufacturer or how many scrolls they have.
it is listed as an item and no further parts breakdown is available
For my VIN it is the following 13-7001:

I don't know about the turbos, but afaik T3=3.3 diesel Australian market, T3R=3.3 diesel UK/Europe market

In 1 month i should have it already, but here are some VINs I've found online:
JMZKHOCF901114815,
JMZKHOCF801114627,
JMZKHOCF901116404

Damn theres no Auto translate on that.

Is it basically saying that that car holds two maps on its ECU and you can choose which one to run once you in a way 'jailbreak' it? theres no other way to change power like that other than through maps.

Thats where I was confused as a T3 is a turbo, and also a T3R is a revised version of the T3.

This is exactly what was possible in my Mondeo and this is what people from other Mazda forum says about Mazda cars. From what I know you can use even the same software (Forscan) to modify Mazda or Ford cars. I'm not sure if it is ECU or other modification, but it was possible to enable many other things in the car. Of course you have to be careful and all is on user responsibility
It would be pity to lost 6 years warranty...

A Mondeo though, didn't they die quite a while ago?

Seems odd imo and I personally don't think it will be like this on the 60, but happy to hear more when you have more info.

Only 3 in the UK, and Celtic offer their own warranty once you're three the first year, so Im happy with that.

My car has had so many ECU flashes now I doubt they would even notice the flash count if there were a problem.
